balance

as a young girl,

she could balance and walk swiftly across her favorite fallen tree.

the thrill, excitement and joy.

a part of her wondered if she would fall,

but her truth went beyond the wonder.

as days past, she grew into someone new.

and that new person always wondered of her favorite fallen tree.

whatever became of that tree.

why was it so abundantly kind, gentle, and there for me.?

these went through her mind.

so much has changed.

but the wonder still remained.

she visualized.

she took herself back to the scene with the tree.

her senses erupted with nostalgia.

she saw her young hands,

her small, wild feet.

and of course,

the beautiful fallen tree.

she looked around and took in the scene.

"this was deeper than i intended it to be"

she was there in the woods,

where she used to play.

where life reigned vibrantly.

"why did she have to go?"

as if the forrest asked

*crying crying crying*

she rolled over and returned to her room.

after the emotion passed,

gratitude came.

how wonderful to be there.

to share in this nook of life.

she realized much of who she is now,

stems from her freedom she experienced in those woods.

what an honor. a moment of wow.

with that, she went to sleep.
a gentle, tender sleep.

as she awoken the next morning,

she made her way to the coffee shop on the corner.

the forrest still heavy on her mind.

she ordered and sat.

wondered and waited.

realizing how connected everything was,

to her time in that forrest,

"even now,

this stroll for coffee mirrors my mystical journey to the stream,

to concoct myself a potion of leaves."

she thought. "oh, the joy."

her soft smile brought warmth.

an old man,

dressed in earthy tones

strolled toward her with a warm cup of coffee.

"for you darling"

they locked eyes,

and she was back in the forrest,

wait no she was in the coffee shop,

and then back in the forrest,

then the coffee shop.

ahhhhh!!!

he matched her warm smile.

as he grabbed her hand, she found what she was looking for.

"you have a beautiful life now." he said.

a tear ran down both their faces.

no more words were exchanged,

only one final, fulfilling, supportive, and love filled gaze.

and once again-they parted ways,

the end.
