the lion left

loyal she remained to those she loved.

born into a place of scarcity,

of fight,

determination;

she fell right into place.

she knew what it took to get what you wanted,

yet she lacked in feelings of joy and true accomplishment.

she went with the cycle.

keeping the whole family proud of her endeavors,

bringing pride and praise to the family name.

she took time to reflect on her product;

what fruits have been produced in her life,

and it was as if there were none.

how dare she question the integrity of the pack?

and on she went, doing-completing-doing.

she felt empty, as odd as it was to say.

as she laid to rest,

in full presence with the glimmering of the moon,

she began to dream.

as if it was the first time ever.

she felt free there.

un-contained and unconditioned.

her dream was about HER family, HER pack.

she woke up sick the next morning,

for how could she ever deceive her family like that?

she knew the importance of loyalty.

years came and went.

yes, years.

and she never dreamed again.

until,

the dream came to her.

calling her to higher grounds.

destined.

as she woke the next morning,

the whole world around her was frozen.

she caught a look from her momma

a "let's go" so to say.

she couldn't.

and that was the day she walked away.

even more surprising,

her parents understood- they knew the day was coming.

but the pain still remained.

like she killed a dream of there's,

a dream that wasn't even real.

not as real as what she saw.

how easy it was to leave gave her guilt,

but not even so to make her go back.

she ran along the horizon,

dancing among the shining sun.

as she stood is all her fierceness,

she realized she felt alive.

free and fearless.

she needed nothing

because

now,

she had everything.

that is all that matters.

forever.
