the river bend
this week's post is a short story. enjoy
The river flowed briskly for as long as earth could recall.
a smooth rhythm he had.
A bold reminder to all of nature, that the experience continues.
There is no true stop.
There was a section of the river that was in deep pain.
He was separated from the flow.
Alone
He found himself caught in a dip of the land, on a sharp bend, where he had become stagnant.
It was so scary, yet he did not leave.
He had been there for some time
And it felt like he forgot how to flow.
Even though he knew he was a part of the fullness in the river.
He stayed stagnant.
It was dark.
Repetitive.
Lonely.
In circles and circles he went.
A piece of the flow brushed upon him.
The flow was concerned what he was doing.
“I don’t know, I'm just stuck here. I am scared.”
The stagnancy sent a vibration.
The flow did not understand.
Just leave- said the flow.
Come back where you belong
You don’t know how to flow: you just go.
Panic overcame.
He realized he didn’t feel well enough to join the flow, like his ticket was revoked.
-He was unworthy.
This was ever scarier, because with this idea it seemed he would stay stagnant forever!
Why do these patches exist? He asked
Because we all need a pause. Occasionally. Only for a short moment.
Then we keep on moving. We must. We are an essential piece of nature’s puzzle.
So you’ve been here before? He asked
The flow responded. Only for a moment. Then I continue onward.
Stagnancy let free. Released his control and his feelings.
Next thing he knew, he was back in flow.
Back to himself.
In his element.
The flow moved a little bit smoother after that day.
In each and every way.
