navigate hard times

The way is through. hard times, they are part of life, yes they are.

I often fall back onto the quote "sink or swim" very simple, yet very effective.

When these difficult points of life come through to us, our response is usually the same as the time before. basically, regardless of what level of difficulty we face, we meet the situations with consistent response.

Perfecting that response comes with practice, and thanks to life, we get plenty of it.

I had to change my mindset about the difficulties I’ve faced in life. My natural response was deflection, lack of responsibility, and self-loating. I never wanted to be responsible for the “hard” times or the difficult part of my life. It was at one point much easier for me to blame an outside factor than to sit with it and move forward.

The power that comes from acceptance is immeasurable. I can’t put into words how much smoother life is when I roll with the punches.

Moving with the hard times, makes for easier navigation and deeper understanding. Being as present for the difficult times as we are the good times empowers us with wisdom and strength. It offers us a renewed sense of appreciation.

Life really doesn’t get easier, we get stronger and become better equiped to handle what life throws at us. We have a choice as to how we handle what comes at us, how we dance with the difficulties and create soultions to our problems.

It starts with responsibility. If our life gets easier or harder, that’s not always up to us. What’s up to us is the attitude we have when we face life. When we meet our match. This is consistent regardless of where we are in life, I’ve learned that. You can be happy in joy and you can be grateful in pain.

We make life harder on ourselves by staying stagnent and mopping. Life is always moving, and we should be too.

if you’re going through a hard time, remember it’s temporary. It really is. It’s a bump in the road and it’s teaching you a lesson that will serve you in future chapters. Choose to make the present go easy on you. Let a lotus, bloom through the mud.
