live by the rules

as a kid, I never really liked rules. nevertheless I respected them. they are essential for this human realm, 3d. There has to be some kind of parameter or boundary to ensure smooth experience. energy is endless, fierce, and even sometimes suffocating. Obviously, the first thing that comes to my mind is rules I had as a child, that’s really where they felt most potent, because these taught us where we could and could not go. This understanding must evolve.

We have to set our own rules. We GET to set our own rules. As I’ve grown and developed, I’ve learned rules are essential. They really are. Obviously, there are rules set by God, society, our jobs, etc. but among most important, our own rules for ourselves. That sounds silly-though can’t you give me the benefit of at least contemplating it for a moment? I want to say they’re the same as boundaries, but they’re not.

Rules seem firm, harsh, and maybe that’s how it’s suppose to be. They’re a tool and a system we can embrace to uplift our own potential and get us further than we have been before. We all have rules for ourselves—we do. They may be subconscious, and that’s okay because they’re still there. What are some of your rules? What kind of rules would you like to welcome in to your life?

Discipline, commitment, etc are all discussed when we talk about following our dreams, like many other things, the topics seem elusive. What I have found, that a foundation of all of these are RULES. What boundaries do we have for ourselves and how well do we respect that? That has to be the conversation before we begin to discuss boundaries of others. Same with rules.

We are worthy and important enough to have our own set of rules that we have in place to keep up safe, healthy, and thriving. The majority of us are trained well enough to follow the rules, why not use that to our own advantage? Who would be better to set rules for ourselves than ourselves? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go jot down some new rules I’m setting for myself. MWAH!
